What is the Digital Kit?
The Digital Kit is a Spanish Government initiative aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the self-employed to go digital. However, it is important to understand how it actually works and who benefits.
How does the Digital Kit work?

SubsidiesSMEs can receive vouchers of up to 12,000 euros to go digital, but this money does not go directly to them. Instead, it goes to the Digitising Agents, which are accredited companies to implement the technological solutions.

Process: Interested companies should apply for the voucher and then choose a Digitisation Agent who will implement the necessary solutions.
Requirements to become a Digitising Agent
To become a Digitisation Agent, the only clear and straightforward requirement is to have a minimum annual turnover of 35,000 euros. This means that:
- Experience is not necessary: Any company, regardless of its previous experience in digital solutions, can become a Digitising Agent if it meets the invoicing requirement.
- Billing DiscriminationCompanies that have extensive experience in digitisation but do not reach the minimum turnover of 35,000 euros. cannot to become Digitising Agents. This exploits a loophole that allows companies with no track record in the sector to enter the programme, while leaving out qualified professionals who do not reach that level of revenue.

Unfair CompetitionThis requirement can lead to unfair competition. Large and well-resourced companies can monopolise the market, as it is easier for them to meet the minimum turnover and obtain accreditation, leaving small companies out of the game.
